Livid.
I am Livid. This past January, I worked for a tax preparation firm. I admit to making ONE mistake, nevermind my client does not say jack squat to me. Then my boss not only lies about my job performance, but I was fired over the phone.
Now here’s the kicker: My employer has yet to provide me my last check. I signed a Contract that said I was going to get a direct deposit. Instead, thye lie to me by saying that my account did not exist and they gave me a money order instead. I called the bank and they told me there was nothing wrong with my account.
I tried calling the state’s department of labor, but every time I call, nobody picks up until the 20th ring. I’m running out of options.
Perhaps the person that did the paperwork for direct deposit messed up and wrote in a wrong number. They DID give you the money, via money order though so I really don’t think there is anything that can be done about it.

I hope you didn’t find that last comment rude…you know that I’m a bit ah, anal about spelling and such.

No, You were not rude. My spell checker is not working, however, I should be listening more to my inner spell checker, my brain.
As far as the “money order” is concerned, the contract I signed did not stipulate that I would get a money order, which in reality is an inferior monterary intrument. Thus there was and still is a breach of contract.
My intial reaction was to urinate on it, place it manilla envelope and send it to corporate. However, that would be stooping to their level. And that is why I’m only trying to work within the boundaries of the law.
